Ymateb gan Unigolyn | Evidence from Individual

What are your views on the general principles of the Bill and the need for legislation to deliver the Welsh Government’s stated policy objective (to make the Senedd a more effective legislature by ensuring it is broadly representative of the gender make-up of the population)?

Asking someone's gender is bizarre, it is a social construct that some people may believe in and others not. It is like asking what religion someone is and giving no option to state atheist or none. You should stick to Equality Act definitions of protected characteristics based on sex and gender reassignment,  2 very different things. If you do not measure sex, you cannot measure sex discrimination. If you do not understand women are adult human females, you cannot understand if women are fully represented in your institution.

What are your views on the system of enforcement and potential sanctions for non-compliance proposed in the Bill?

As long as 'woman' means sex, not gender. As long as woman means adult human female. As long as female relates to a persons sex observed at birth. As long as you comply with sex as the protected characteristic as stated in the Equality act, and not vague gender ideology definitions that go around in circles, then this is fine. But if you are talking gender ideology and self identification in lieu of sex, then of course I don't think biological men should be allowed to declare themselves women for this purpose.

Are there any potential barriers to the implementation of the Bill’s provisions? If so, what are they, and are they adequately taken into account in the Bill and the accompanying Explanatory Memorandum and Regulatory Impact Assessment?

If you think women will allow you to swap sex for gender, and bring in gender ideology through the back door of this bill, please expect significant legal challenge on this bill. I have given to 7 legal crowdfunders brought by women and men who have a case due to discrimination by an organisation or institution based on their sex, dye to gender ideology. All have won their cases. I and many other women I know will be prepared to donate again. I hope the Senedd won't be silly and disrespectful to 51% of the Welsh population.

Are any unintended consequences likely to arise from the Bill?

As above, please don't use this for the purpose of Back Door entry of gender ideology into Welsh legislation. I will not put up with it, and neither will many many women that I know.  It is a material fact that a woman is an adult human female. The bizarre new gender ideology  belief system is not something that i believe in and it should not be forced on a population by the political institution that runs a country.

What are your views on the Welsh Government’s assessment of the financial and other impacts of the Bill?

What are your views on the balance between the information contained on the face of the Bill and what is left to subordinate legislation? Are the powers for Welsh Ministers to make subordinate legislation appropriate?

Not if you are replacing 'sex' (material fact) with 'gender' (ideology & belief).

Do you have any views on matters relating to the legislative competence of the Senedd including compatibility with the European Convention on Human Rights?

You cannot replace sex with gender. Sex is material fact, gender is ideology.

Do you have any views on matters related to the quality of the legislation, or to the constitutional or other implications of the Bill?

You cannot replace sex with gender. Sex is material fact, gender is ideology.

Are there any other issues that you would like to raise about the Bill and the accompanying Explanatory Memorandum or any related matters?

No

Anything else?

Please do not try to destroy women's sex based rights. We will not stand for it.
